    Empowering communities begins with knowledge.

    Agriculture and Food Systems

The Agriculture and Food Systems Programme helps farmers and communities improve production, reduce post-harvest losses and develop sustainable agricultural enterprises. It responds to the combined challenges of climate variability, limited irrigation, declining soil quality, weak storage systems and restricted access to value-adding technologies. EWAH-NEXUS recognises that agriculture depends on energy, water, healthy soils, practical knowledge and access to markets. We therefore connect renewable energy, efficient water use, climate-smart farming, food processing and entrepreneurship within one integrated programme.

    Our Areas of Action

    Climate-Smart Farming

Farmers receive practical training in sustainable cultivation, soil conservation, organic production, composting, crop diversification and approaches that strengthen resilience to climate change.

    Water and Energy for Agriculture

We promote solar-powered irrigation, efficient water management and renewable energy technologies that make agricultural production more reliable and productive.

    Food Preservation and Value Addition

Solar drying, improved storage, processing and hygienic handling help farmers reduce losses, extend shelf life and obtain greater value from their harvests.

    Agribusiness and Market Development

Women, youth, cooperatives and small producers receive support in enterprise planning, product development, packaging, record keeping and market readiness.

    Our Approach

Our interventions combine farmer training, field demonstrations, appropriate technology and continuous technical support. Solutions are selected according to local climate, available resources, community priorities and realistic market opportunities. Farmers participate in testing and improving the methods introduced.
    Who We Serve
The programme serves smallholder farmers, women farmers, agricultural cooperatives, young agripreneurs, food processors, school farms and rural households.
    The Impact We Seek
We seek to increase sustainable production, improve food availability, reduce post-harvest losses, raise household incomes and create stronger opportunities for women and youth throughout the agricultural value chain.
    Take Action
Partner with us to equip farmers with the knowledge, technologies and opportunities required to build resilient food systems.
