Programme

Renewable Energies

Powering communities with clean, practical and sustainable solutions.

About the programme

What this programme is about

The Renewable Energies Programme promotes the adoption and practical use of clean-energy technologies that respond to the everyday needs of African communities. We work with households, schools, health facilities, farms, businesses and community organisations to improve access to reliable and affordable energy.

Our programme goes beyond installing equipment. We help communities understand how renewable energy systems work and develop the local skills required to operate, maintain and sustain them. This strengthens local ownership while creating opportunities for technical employment and green entrepreneurship.

What we do

Our areas of action

Solar energy solutions

We support the assessment, design, installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems for homes, schools, health facilities, community buildings and productive activities.

Productive uses of renewable energy

Clean energy is applied to water pumping, irrigation, food drying, cold storage, processing, lighting and other activities that strengthen agriculture, health and livelihoods.

Clean cooking and energy efficiency

We promote cleaner cooking technologies, efficient appliances, improved lighting and practical energy-management measures that reduce costs, pollution and unnecessary consumption.

Training and local technical capacity

Women, youth, technicians and community members receive hands-on training in renewable energy, system safety, maintenance, troubleshooting and enterprise development.

Our approach

How we work

Every intervention begins with an assessment of the beneficiary’s needs, available resources and local conditions. Appropriate technologies are selected with the participation of the community, followed by practical implementation, user training and continuing technical support. Where appropriate, digital monitoring tools are introduced to track energy production, consumption and equipment performance.

Who we serve

Who the programme is for

The programme serves rural and underserved communities, schools, health facilities, farmers, cooperatives, women’s associations, youth groups, small businesses and community organisations.

The impact we seek

Through this programme, EWAH NEXUS seeks to increase access to reliable energy, reduce household and institutional energy expenses, improve agricultural and business productivity, create green employment and strengthen local capacity to manage clean-energy systems independently.
